DC’s Legends of Tomorrow

For the record, the title is STUPID.

But this trailer looks freaking AWESOME.

I had been wondering what they were going to do with Sarah Lance, deceased at the opening of Arrow, Season 3 … resurrection by Lazarus pit is not the call I would have made, but okay.

In my experience of the fictional Lazarus pits in the DC comic book universe, the people who go into the pits are either newly dead, or just mostly dead.  A year-long dead?  Not so much.  It’ll be interesting to see this particular unstable element to this team. After all, in all continuities, using a Lazarus pit makes you a little crazy.

This team … I knew, from the moment they brought in Superman to play Ray Palmer, he was going to be interesting.  When he appeared on The Flash and they used the line “It’s a bird …. it’s a plane … it’s my boyfriend,” I knew they were having fun.  And, frankly, I think Brand Routh is a better Clark Kent now than he was in Superman Returns.

Bringing in Captain Cold and Heatwave, enemies from The Flash … yeah, I think this was “Hey, Mr. Miller, we love your Capt. Cold. Would you like a tv show?” He’s sardonic and as cynical as heck, and it’s a wonderful contrast to someone like Atom.

Also, I like Firestorm.  And Garber as Dr. Martin Stein?  Should be fun.

As for Hawkgirl … I have no idea, as she hasn’t appeared yet.

Though bringing in Arthur Darville (Doctor Who‘s Rory) as, essentially, a Time Lord who dresses like John Constantine (or David Tennant)?  I’m good.

Also: Atom, Canary, Firestorm, Capt. Cold, Heatwave, Hawkgirl, and Rip Hunter.  They at least have the number right.  They are seven.

  1. According to people who know more about this than I, the comics actually state that the Lazarus Pit can be used on a body up to one year after death. However, they get increasingly crazy.
