Of The Many Reasons I Don’t Blog a Lot

Call them reasons. Call them excuses. But there are several issues that keep me from blogging a lot, from the full-time writing job for Top Ten Reviews (which is awesome fun, especially lately), balancing the social marketing and interaction for my writing and the Catholic Writers’ Guild, and of course…

My latest novel, Mind Over All, is coming out this month. It concludes the Mind Over Trilogy, a story 15 years in the making and 30 since I wrote the original story. The trilogy follows the adventures of Deryl, a human who develops psychic powers, goes insane as a result, and eventually finds his way back to sanity and saves two alien worlds from destruction. He’s helped by Joshua, an intern who becomes his best friend.

Joshua has his own storyline as he falls in love with one of the nurses at the asylum, Sachiko. Each of them has issues to work through stemming from previous relationships that ended badly. I had ended their story with the two finally agreeing on a wedding date, but that wasn’t good enough for my beta readers, so…

SliderHoM2This is the story of Josh’s and Sachiko’s wedding told from the POV of a very stressed-out bride. We get to see the ordinary side of her and Josh’s life, but there is still humor, a disastrous bachelor party, and (of course) aliens on the guest list.

They’re a little science fiction, a little fantasy, a little romance, a little Catholic, and a lot of fun to read and have written. I hope you’ll check them out. You can start by learning more about the series here.

In the meantime, I’m off to write the next book. This one is the origin story of DragonEye, PI – Vern’s first case in the Mundane world. Enchanted chili peppers murdering the migrant workers! Vern can save the day, if the Mundanes can get past the fact that he’s a drake and not a human.

I’ll be blogging now and again, but if you don’t see me for a while, now you know why.
