Microsoft Opens strong at E3

Okay, Microsoft’s opening video? Very well shot together. I give them points for a nice music video. Though it reminds me that they’ve dumped a ton of money on the Tomb Raider franchise, making it Xbox exclusive — not even for PC. Bastards.

It’s obvious that they fired EVERYBODY involved in the original Xbox One reveal. They spent a lot of time talking about responding to gamers. Including BACKWARDS COMPATIBILITY — play Xbox 360 games on Xbox One.

Xbox wins this round of the console wars.

Halo 5: Guardians

Also, the lead presenter was from 343 — the people bringing you Halo.

Speaking of Halo, there’s Nathan Fillion, both in voice and face. Thankfully, we’ve also got the return of Keith David (Gargoyles) as the Arbiter. So, maybe, we can get some more background on just what happened in Halo 4 with the overall plot of the space opera they had going throughout the original Halo trilogy.

Also, they’ve broken up the story into two lines, where you’re playing two different sides of the campaign.

Obviously, Halo: Guardians looks shiny. It had better at this point. Though I don’t see a massive leap forward from the last-gen Halo 4.

Also, like Doom, it has some parkour and jerpacks stolen straight from Titanfall.  But this does the shoutout and co-op aspect better.  In short, it has a reason for a co-op mode instead of just copying the same character on the screen for no reason.

Yes, it really does look all sorts of epic, with some shiny new powers and abilities.

Recore

There was also the world premiere trailer for the Xbox One exclusive Recore.

First question: why are we on Tattoine?

Second: did that robo-dog just suicide bomb a whole bunch of cyber-enemies?

New controllers

Yeah, they debuted a new controller, with ful button customization, and will work with both the XB One and Windows 10.

Well, that’s one way to get people to  buy Win 10.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2

This will just be insane. Run with it.

Dark Souls III: Die Hardest

You will die. A lot. Every time.

Oh, and the subtitle is just a joke on my party

Tom Clancy’s The Division

In the wake of a world-ending plague, embedded government operatives are activated to restore order in a world that has completely gone to hell.

It looks like fun.

It also looks like Multiplayer only.  I hate that.
